 Welcome to my whimsical world!

PaperWhimsy was started in 2001 when I became interested in collage and mixed media art.  It was the umbrella under which I sold my collage art on ebay and in 2002, it began to encompass PaperWhimsy collage images when I listed my first collage sheet (also on ebay).  I've been hooked ever since.

My background in art is varied and has gone through many incarnations.  I studied Graphics and Commercial Art in college and I've since dabbled in several media during my art career: painting, textile art, stencil art (as StencilWorks, Etc), mixed-media/collage art, digital art and photography.  And often times all of these varied experiences combine into one amazing mess in my studio!

My main focus, currently, is PaperWhimsy: the business, and my digital art and photography which culminates in the hundreds of collage sheets and digital images I offer at paperwhimsy.com.  It is such a thrill and a blessing to see these images being used in brilliant and glorious ways to create artistic stories by the many talented artists who've visited me here to seek inspiration.

Recently, I added a laser cutter/engraver to my retinue of tools and started designing (with help from my talented husband, Phillip Drawbridge) and cutting all kinds of cool goodies for mixed media artists to alter and decorate.  The laser is a new tool and the vast possibilities it offers are still being explored here at PaperWhimsy.

PaperWhimsy is a one-woman show: I design the products and then cut, print, pick, pack and post all the orders myself.  Everyday starts bright and early at my computer (yes!  In my jimjams) going through emails and orders and organizing the activity for that day.  Because of the size of my business, most orders are printed and/or cut at the time they're prepared for shipment.  Fresh off the printer or the laser and done especially for you!  Hence, you will note that my shipping times will run from 4-10 business days (and sometimes beyond during busy times).  My goal is to always provide my customers with exceptional products and friendly personalized service.  Because I'm a small business I can do that.  When you send an email to PaperWhimsy it comes directly to me; if you have a question it doesn't funnel through several people - it comes right to the Whimsy desk, itself, manned by little old me: Gale PaperWhimsy Blair.  Occasionally, if I don't have the answer (technical questions) I'll grab my husband, Phillip, to lend his expertise.   PaperWhimsy is truly a cottage industry run out of my cozy little cottage in cozy Fishers, Indiana.

My sincere thanks to all of you who have supported PaperWhimsy!  It is your artistic passion that keeps this tiny bit of whimsy on the internet a dream come true for me.
